Hello World
January 3rd, 2010after stumbling upon 21awake today, I’ve decided to return to this blog and write.
Why ?
Each of us have a path. and everyone of us is either walking it or not, has it. some things along it we can share and some not. but if what we can share may help others immediately reverse the question to Why not ?
Almost ten years ago, I, Eran Lahav got in touch with the Dhamma. since then a lot has happen. three month ago I’ve finally finished a ten day Vipasanna course that made my path clearer to me. here’ I’ll try to write why and how.
I was born in Israel as a secular Jewish and never really officially converted to something else. but, since living among Buddhists for some time I knew I wanted to be around them for some more time and learned what I can from their culture. today I see myself as a secular Buddhist (if something like that really exist). or as Adrienne Howley called it in The Naked Buddha a Buddha Buddhist.
In the last day of the Vipassana course, I queried the old students, how do they maintain the their practice outside the course and if they have some practical tips for me. they were all glad to help and share their insights from their journey. one guy just told me: try and keep it as a daily routine. I don’t know why (until now) but I’ve asked him again: “also during the weekends ?”
He smiled, and then me too.
Hence the name: 365 Days of Dhamma
